03 · Long-term commitment and surrender
Insurance is usually a long-term commitment. Early surrender can be costly and surrender value may be less than total premiums paid; loans, withdrawals, charges and low crediting can reduce cash value or cause a policy to lapse. Premium financing carries interest-rate and currency risk, and banks may call for additional collateral.

06 · Verification and cross-border advice
Before sharing sensitive information or transacting, verify institutions and representatives through the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) public registers, the Hong Kong Insurance Authority and the institutions' official channels. Cross-border clients should obtain independent advice on tax, foreign-exchange and reporting obligations in the relevant jurisdictions.

08 · Policy illustrations and sub-fund performance
Policy illustrations show three investment rates of return, one of which is 0%. Under current Life Insurance Association Singapore rules the rates are stated before the funds' annual management charges, and the other two are currently capped at 8% and 4% (subject to the latest LIA circulars). They are for illustration only, do not represent upper or lower limits on performance, and are neither expected nor guaranteed returns; the 0% column shows the effect of charges when investments do not grow. This site publishes no historical return or distribution data for any sub-fund; past performance does not indicate future results.

Insurers, fund platforms and sub-funds mentioned on this site are public examples used to explain mechanics and are not recommendations; fees, fund lists and terms are as stated in each institution's latest public documents. The CPF Board states that it does not endorse any product provider or product under the CPFIS, and this site takes the same position.
